What each browser check can and cannot tell you

TestMySetup uses standard browser capabilities to confirm that your current browser can reach a device or respond to an input. It is a practical readiness check, not a professional hardware diagnosis.

Camera and microphone

Access begins only after you select a start button and approve the browser permission. The camera preview and microphone level are processed inside your browser. TestMySetup does not record, upload, or store the media stream. Use the visible stop control or leave the page to end access.

Speakers

The speaker test generates a short, gentle tone in your browser. Hearing it confirms basic audio playback through the currently selected output. It does not measure frequency response, distortion, or professional audio quality.

Connection response

The connection check sends three small requests to this site and reports the average response time. That result includes network travel and server response. It is useful for a quick readiness check but is not a full download or upload speed test.

Keyboard and display

The keyboard test shows key events that reach the page; browser and operating-system shortcuts may be intercepted. The display test renders solid colors so you can visually inspect pixels. Results depend on your browser, display settings, eyesight, and viewing conditions.

Device information

The summary formats details that the browser makes available, such as browser family, operating system, screen size, approximate memory, CPU thread count, language, touch support, and time zone. Browsers may withhold or reduce some values for privacy.

Interpreting your result

A pass means the feature responded during this browser session. A warning means you should check permissions, connections, mute controls, selected devices, or another application that may be using the hardware. Neither result guarantees that a device is defect-free or suitable for every application.
