How to test your speakers
- Lower your device volume before starting.
- Select Play test tone.
- Listen for a steady tone lasting about two seconds.
- If silent, switch the output device in system settings and replay it.
No sound?
Check the system and browser tab volume, confirm the correct output device is selected, and reconnect Bluetooth headphones. Some browsers also let you mute individual sites or tabs.
Can this measure speaker quality?
No. The tone confirms basic playback. Distortion, stereo balance, and frequency response need more specialized tests and controlled listening conditions.
